Jordan Campbell
Unless you have been hiding under a rock, you know that we are in the thick of things when it comes to football. Last year I wrote an article talking about some of the dream games I wish we had in the Shoals. This season is no different.
Lauderdale County vs. Mars Hill
I can assure you, if this was a real game, we would call it. Strength on strength. Watching Slade Brown run through a hole on the right side to meet up with Justus McDaniel. I mean come on.
Waterloo vs. Rogers
The smallest school in Lauderdale County is one that has some of the highest expectations surrounding them this season. Junior Summerhill is lighting up opposing defenses on the ground. Things have been difficult for Rogers early on in the season, but defense hasn’t been the problem. This would be a fun one to watch without a doubt.
Colbert County vs. Brooks
Brooks has been a powerhouse for a long time. Colbert County… also has been a powerhouse for a long time. The match up outside with Tee Carter or Marcus Hampton and Kobe Warden would be a football fans fantasy.
Colbert County vs. Colbert Heights
This is purely a turf war. One school is located on a mountain. One school is nestled in a tiny football town. One school has a rich history of state championships. One school is on the rise. This is a matchup that the home coach would love because frankly, it would bring a huge gate. Let’s see this one happen soon.
Florence vs. Brooks
Brooks and Florence faced off in the first ever football game the Falcons ever played in. It was a 33-29 Brooks victory. The next year, Florence returned the favor be handing Brooks a 21-7 defeat. The two schools have not faced off on the grid iron since. I doubt it will ever happen, but man, wouldn’t it be fun?
Central vs. Waterloo
Do I really need to expand on this one?
